Testimonials: Happy Honey Tree Jack Russell Homes

After researching breeders of Jack Russell Terriers throughout California and Nevada, Laura's attention, care, and affection for her animals made her the obvious choice when I purchased my dog, Oggie, six years ago. Her dogs are carefully bred to maintain the unique characteristics of this working terrier breed, while her obvious love for her dogs and their offspring is reflected in the bright, gentle temperament of the animals. As Oggie has grown to be a healthy, devoted animal companion, Laura has been a remarkable resource, and her knowledge of the breed and its heritage is truly inspiring. As a responsible dog owner, Iregard Laura as representing everything one could hope for in a good breeder. I know that she breeds her animals on a very limited and very careful basis, and cares enough to constantly keep track of the puppies she has bred. Laura even microchips her puppies so that they can be returned to her care should an owner lose the animal or is unable to care for the dog.

In early 2001 I began researching various Jack Russell kennels in hope of purchasing a puppy for my wife's birthday. After visiting a number of kennels which were poorly ran ( ie. Unsanitary conditions, undernourished animals, etc, etc)I became quite discouraged. However, I was later referred to Laura Overton and subsequently called her inquiring about the possibility of purchasing a Jack Russell puppy. She spoke with me for over an hour about my history with dogs and animals in general, prior to allowing me to visit her facility. On the date I was scheduled to visit her facility I arrived one hour early and waited for her arrival. During that time I never heard any barking dogs. When she arrived I found her to be very pleasant, professional, and a person who cared very much about her dogs. Additionally, her kennel was clean and it was obvious her animals were well cared for and she loved them all dearly. I subsequently purchased little Miss Rosie ( a four month old jack Russell puppy) who now runs our family !!

About six years ago I was looking to purchase a Jack Russell terrier puppy. Having contacted the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America in search of a reputable breeder, I was given Mrs. Overton's contact information. I called Ms. Overton on the phone and made arrangements to meet with her. We chose a weekend that we could both agree on. Shortly after arriving, my initial impression of Laura Overton was that she knew her stuff. She went over so much information about the breeds temperament, space requirements and behavior just to name a few. She went on to give me information about containing the dog and keeping it safe. What impressed me the most was that Mrs. Overton screened me. I actually had to qualify to purchase one of her puppies. After purchasing a puppy, she provided me with a collar, leash, chew bone and toys. The puppy was vaccinated as well. She also gave me a dog crate along with printed instructions for care and training. Laura encouraged me to call if I had questions and I did, often. All of the elements listed above convinced me that Laura Overton is an excellent example of a reputable and responsible dog breeder. I have had the pleasure of owning different types of dogs in the past, but none of the breeders I purchased from in the past had the level of professionalism that Laura has. I am pleased to say that I have purchased several puppies from Laura and each time has been a wonderful experience. I love my dogs very much. They are the love of my life. I have Laura Overton to thank for that.

We are the owners of a female Jack Russell Terrier from Honey Tree Jack Russell Terriers. Before purchasing this dog, we looked at many kennels over a period of months. We concluded that this kennel was outstanding in the field of many breeders. Laura Overton was professional and caring. Her integrity in breeding and placement of her dogs was superior. We consider her a credit to her profession and to her community. Within our personal experience, we believe you will find no other owner and kennel with such high standards personally and professionally.

Five years ago I located Honey Tree Farms through the Jack Russell Terrier Club's Breeders' Directory for the purpose of purchasing a Jack Russell terrier. I was very impressed with Laura's commitment to the breed and to the Club's Code of Ethics, which advises breeders, among other things, to:
* Screen breeding stock for inherited diseases
* Screen potential buyers and educate them about the breed
* Be responsible for all puppies for their entire lifetimes
* Not sell dogs or puppies to pet shops, brokers, puppy mills, or supply them for raffles, etc.
In addition, Laura sends each dog she sells to its new home with a crate, toys, food dish, food, collar and leash, current vaccinations, and a rebate for paying/neutering. This, in particular, impressed me. I have never before or since heard of a breeder going to such lengths to ensure that a dog has what it needs to be comfortable in its new home. In finding my first Jack Russell and in looking for another to keep him company, I have been to Laura's house several times. It has been my experience that her dogs are almost completely quiet, except when I have actually gone to see the dogs. Even then, the dogs quiet quickly when the visitor leaves. This is very common behavior for dogs in general. Jack Russells aren't for everyone. These dogs are very active and energetic and need physical and mental activity to keep them content. Finding the right home is important to ensuring that they are not abandoned. Laura is a responsible breeder. Please don't punish her or the dogs for that.

I have known Laura Overton as a breeder of Jack Russell Terriers forsome time. She has a good reputation in the National JRTCA club and on the West Coast as a reputable breeder. Last year we purchased a puppy from her to improve our own breeding line. She performed her duty as a good breeder by selling us a healthy puppy with all the required paperwork and even micro-chipped the puppy before it left her home. I also run the local Jack Russell Terrier Rescue. I wish more breeders would act as Laura has done over the years taking care of her terriers and making sure that they go to qualified homes as puppies, and taking care of her older ones, and not just dumping them into Rescue when they are inconvenient.

I purchased a Jack Russell Terrier from Laura Overton. She conducted her business with the utmost quality service, and I am so grateful that there are such upstanding Jack Russell Terrier Dog Breeders available in this area. She was very well organized in her resource of information, which allowed me to search and find her. I was able to purchase a healthy, happy puppy, and she provided all the necessary shots and even a refund after the dog was neutered. Long after I had acquired the dog, I was still able to contact her anytime for professional advice.

Laura Overton is the breeder of our Jack Russell terrier that we purchased from her in February of 2004. She has an excellent reputation within the Northern California Jack Russell Terrier Association who referred her to us. When we went to Denair to pick up our puppy, we noticed how well organized she was and caring she was for her dogs. All of our dealings with her have been very professional and our dog iswonderful.
We contacted Laura Overton in April of 2002 regarding the purchase of aJack Russell Terrier. We found out about her through the Jack Russell
Terrier Breeder's magazine. We called her and spent many hours speaking
with her regarding the purchase of a dog. We went to visit her in Denair
when a litter was available. She brought the puppies outside for us to look
over. The puppies at that time were housed inside. We were able to view
the puppies in a clean, well-kept environment. We chose our dog and have
been very happy with him. We found Laura to be very professional,
informing us of all the pros and cons of the breed and the care they required.
She also informed us that if for any reason we didn't get along with the dog
she would gladly take him back. As a result of her professionalism, we have a fine pet and would recommend her to others.
In today's age, it is difficult to find a professional breeder with integrity
and such caring. Proud owners of Boot (Reggie) Honey Tree Terrier.
